After beating California on the road, it's now evident that quarterback Cody Fajardo (230 yards passing & 97 yards rushing) gives Nevada hope for greater success than expected.
But unlike Wyoming, who completely relies on mobile quarterback Brett Smith, Fajardo is not alone. Running back Stefphon Jefferson ran for 145 yards and three touchdowns against California and can hold his own against members of the elite conferences.
South Florida's 2011 season went completely south after a quick start. They did little to impress against FCS Chattanooga and might end up to be the victim of an upset to a non-AQ team like Louisville was at the hands of Florida International.
South Florida failed to reach 100 rushing yards against Chattanooga, which either means they are a completely pass heavy team, or they are inept at the running game. If it is the ladder, they will have little chance to move the ball on the ground against Nevada.
Being this game is in Reno, Nevada will have home field advantage. They will likely use South Florida as an example for their fans as to why the Wolf pack are for real.
